Create Entities

An Entity represents a coherent policy specification within the context of its host subject. Entities can have contained subordinate entities. This enables the specification of SubTyping where the root entity is the super type. The subordinate entities can also represent a contains multiple sets of data such as Addresses, or Education within the overall entity Persons.

However, in this example, it would be better to have all the entities be data representations of the meaning of the Subject. Thus, Addresses, Education, and the like would be better placed within their own Subject context. In short, keep subjects and entities simple and single purpose so that they can be maximally reused as standardized data structure semantic templates. The process to creating Entities includes:

  • Start the Specified Data Model Metabase System Module
  • Select the DBMS
  • Enter User Name and Password
  • Select the Menu Item, Subjects & Entities, then the subordinate menu item, Entity

    • Enter the Name, Local Definition, and Description of the Entity
