Import Implemented Database Model

An Implemented Database Model is a standardized data structure template. The Tables contained in the Implemented Data Model can be imported into a DBMS Schema of one or more Operational Data Models. The Implemented Data Model import choices are:

  • A Schema Table Set
  • An Table Tree
  • A single Table
  • One or more Columns
  • Clone an Operational Data Model

The process to accomplish Implemented Data Model importation includes:
  • Start the Operational Data Model Metabase System Module
  • Select the DBMS
  • Enter User Name and Password
  • Select the Menu Item, Import & Export, then the subordinate menu item, Import from Implemented Data Model, then the subordinate menu item, Import Schema Table Set
    • Select a source Schema
    • Select a target DBMS Schema (insert a new one if appropriate)
    • Press, Import Tables from Schema.
  • Or, Select the Menu Item, Import & Export, then the subordinate menu item, Import from Implemented Data Model, then the subordinate menu item, Import Table Tree
    • Select a source Schema
    • Select the target DBMS Schema (insert a new one if appropriate)
    • Select the root Table upon which to build a tree
    • Press the Display Data Model tree to see the constructued tree
    • Press the Import Tree
  • Or, Select the Menu Item, Import & Export, then the subordinate menu item, Import from Implemented Data Model, then the subordinate menu item, Import Single Table
    • Select a source Schema
    • Select a target DBMS Schema (insert a new one if appropriate)
    • Select a root Table
    • Press, Import Implemented Data Model Table
  • Or, Select the Menu Item, Import & Export, then the subordinate menu item, Import from Operational Database Model, then the subordinate menu item, Clone and Operational Data Model
    • Select source DBMS Schema
    • Select target DBMS Schema (create a new one if appropriate).
    • Press Clone Source DBMS Schema
