The Reference Data Management presentation focuses on a key issue related to data management. Reference data is the data that is "referenced" as surrogates for "longer/descriptive" values. E.g., F for Female. There are a number of discrete cases that have to be identified and managed. A more complex, but still simple example is Address where there is a triple code: City, State, Zip. The outline for this presentation is:
- Data Architecture Reference Model
- Reference Data Cases and Examples
- Reference-Data Data-Model
- Reference Data Updating
- Recasting Values
- Summary and Closing
- Big-Four Way-Ahead
