The DBMSs that can be engines for the Metabase System are currently Mimer (www.mimer.com) and Microsoft's MS/SQL. The demo databases that come with the install are for Mimer and for MS/SQL
The Metabase Software executed with two types of running databases. One, MbSysDb is used to control access to your Metabase database datasets, manage users and store security information. The second type of database, for example, Movies or Metabase stores the actual metadata that acts as the surrogates for all the enterprise architectures, databases, and business information systems work product artifacts.
Certain Metabase System licenses enable an unlimited quantity of metabase databases beyond Movies and Metabase. These certain licenses also allow for different quantities of concurrent metabase System users.
